Gottex Spring 2011
During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, designers showcased their brilliant visions for the Spring 2011 season. While most of the world tuned into shows like Marc Jacobs, Gucci, and Michael Kors, a niche group noticed the beautiful pieces from London designer Molly Grad for the Israeli-based line, Gottex. I must say, swimwear never gets old to me, and I absolutely adore this collection. It's reminiscent of the 40s and 50s when swimwear was more than just the bathing suit. It was a cape or flowing sarong, high cut briefs or bikinis, and of course the beloved headpiece. I love how they revamped the headpiece where it looks like a turban but once the model turns, it's actually a tied visor. It just exudes royalty but in a modern way. With frills, high waists, and crystals and sparkle, these pieces are sure to catch anyone's attention. And Victoria's Secret supermodel Karolina Kurkova was a great choice to work the runway.
